How to: Cone Burr Shim Installation
*** Unplug the grinder from power supply ***
We advise only installing one shim at a time to avoid clogs or potential damage.
One shim shifts the grind range finer by approximately 6 macro steps.
For example, if using 1F before adding a shim, start at 7F after adding a shim.
- Close the hopper gate and clear ground coffee from the system
- Rotate the macro adjustment assembly in the coarse direction, past 31 until it stops and can be pulled down for removal.
- Place the assembly on a work surface. Press down evenly on the metal adjustment assembly to remove the cone burr subassembly.
- On separation, the adjustment subassembly will snap free.
- Pull to remove the nozzle.
- Remove the cone burr hex bolt.
- Remove the cone burr.
- Add 1 shim.
- Install the cone burr.
- Note that the burr and holder are keyed.
- Install the cone burr hex bolt and tighten.
- Install the nozzle.
- Place the cone burr subassembly upside down on the work surface. Position the adjustment ring and press down evenly to snap the parts together into one assembly.
- The parts will make an audible snap sound.
- Insert the cone burr holder halfway up into the grinder. Rotate the assembly as needed until the cone burr holder is keyed into the unit.
- Line up the blue tab on the adjustment ring with the blue arrow on the case.
- Press up on the assembly and rotate the blue tab towards the rear of the grinder.
- Install the hopper and return the unit to operation.
